Hi! My name is Yara. I am the owner of Skincare By Yara. I am a Texas Licensed Esthetician, Licensed Esthetician Instructor and Licensed Massage Therapist. I am also a member of the NCEA, Associated Skin Care Professionals and Associated Body & Massage Professionals. Skin care is my passion and I'm an advocate for holistic esthetics.
I became interested in skin care at the age of 8 as I began developing skin problems and became self-conscious of it. I started my own skin care regimen with just plain bar soap and water. As I became a teenager, soap and water wasn't enough. There wasn't internet back then but Seventeen and other magazines were a big help. I studied on learning how to DIY homemade facials. In my 20s, I discovered aloe vera...a truly healing plant in my book! I now was pimple free! In my 30s, a new chapter in my life began...I became a mother of two beautiful girls. Skin is still good with the occasional evil pimple. Haha!
In 2009, I decided to go to beauty school to study esthetics at Salon and Spa Institute in Brownsville, Texas. I graduated in 2010 as an esthetician and then immediately went back to study for my esthetic instructor license. From 2013-2015, I taught as an Esthetician Instructor at a local beauty school. In 2016, I went on to study massage therapy and currently a Licensed Massage Therapist. I am pursuing my post graduate studies at the International Dermal Institute, and I also attend yearly conventions to keep up to date with the newest trends.
After 15 years in this industry, I finally have my own skin care line called YARA Skincare.
I'm a believer in simple skin care and recommend sun protection for the young and the young at heart. I practice what I preach. My specialty in the field of esthetics are oxygen facials and anti-aging treatments.
My mission is to help those who need guidance with their skin care.
